The Neighborhood Network was formed out of a vision to move towards Jesus' prayer in John 17 that we might all be one. It all began with a vision by Brent McDougall at Cliff Temple Baptist to begin a group that was rooted in the Winnetka Heights neighborhood not based on Cliff Temple, but based in the unity we have in Christ. It was a place where Anglicans, Methodists, and Baptists met up regardless of church affiliation to meet up and talk about issues in the neighborhood.
We are a growing network of churches that all participate in community groups based off of where we live (though some of us go to groups that we prefer!). Most groups meet weekly and are led through a discussion based off of a scripture for the week. The intention is to build community with people local to your neighborhood and discuss ways that we can work together to address the needs of our communities and love on our neighbors.
We hope that you will find a local community you can be a part of. It does not matter where you come from, there is space for you at the table. Be forewarned, community is not easy, pretty, or always happy. However, the payoff of unity is always worth it.
